Tae-Kwon-do is a Korean martial art and Olympic sport. ‘Tae’ means to kick or smash with the foot, ‘Kwon’ means to punch or smash with the fist or hand, and ‘Do’ meaning way, art or discipline. So the translation can be ‘the art of kicking and punching’ or ‘the way of the feet and the hands’.
At N.A.M.A. we do a modern form of Tae-kwon-do which basically means we don't just concentrate on kicking, even though it's a big part of our style. We also focus on punching, |

defensive blocking, forms, sparring and self defence.
We encourage people to compete in tournaments if they show an interest. We also have a full syllabus belt system which helps with goal setting and progression. |
